Job summary

EQPLUS TECHNOLOGIES PTY LTD in Gauteng seeks a seasoned Business Analyst to lead complex, cross-domain analysis initiatives in financial services contexts, leveraging AI-assisted tooling for requirements drafting and traceability.

You will facilitate workshops, elicit and validate requirements, model processes (BPMN/UML), and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using Jira, Confluence and Azure DevOps, ensuring security and compliance with POPIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Business Analysis certification from a recognised institute (e.g., CBAP) is preferred.
• Certification in Agile analysis practices (IIBA-AAC, PSPO or SAFe) is advantageous.
• Training or certification in applying AI tooling to analysis and software engineering is advantageous.

Knowledge And Skills Required

• Trading, Trading Platforms, Features, Hedging,-Forex (FX), Financial Markets and Fintech industry/space
• Advanced requirements elicitation, analysis, specification and validation techniques, including workshops, interviews, observation and document and system analysis.
• Business process analysis and modelling, including BPMN, and system modelling techniques, including UML, data modelling and interface specification.
• Agile analysis practices, including user story writing, acceptance criteria, backlog refinement and definition of ready and done.
• Software development lifecycle knowledge, including the role of analysis in design, build, test, release and operational support.
• AI-assisted analysis tooling, including large language model and agentic tools for requirements drafting, summarisation, traceability, test scenario generation and the analysis of source code, configuration and integration definitions.
• Reverse engineering techniques for the recovery of business rules, process logic and data requirements from legacy systems, including the use of AI tooling to analyse code, message schemas, integration maps and operational data.
• Data analysis and the ability to interpret data in support of requirements, impact assessment and decision-making.
• Analysis and collaboration tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps and modelling tools.
• Understanding of information security, POPIA, intellectual property and audit requirements as they apply to requirements, solution design and the use of AI tooling.
• Facilitation, negotiation and stakeholder management across business and technology audiences.
• Ability to adapt to new domains, teams and ways of work at short notice.

Minimum Experience

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst or in an equivalent analysis role, of which at least 3 years have been spent on complex, multi-team or cross-domain initiatives.
• Experience delivering analysis across more than one business or technology domain, or in a shared services or consulting environment.
• Experience in the analysis of existing systems for modernisation, migration or replacement, including the recovery of requirements from systems with limited or outdated documentation.
• Demonstrated experience in the practical use of AI-assisted tooling in analysis work.
• Experience in financial services, capital markets or a regulated environment is strongly preferred.

Minimum Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or a related discipline. An Honours degree or postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• Business Analysis certification from a recognised institution, such as IIBA CBAP or an equivalent qualification.
• Certification in Agile analysis practices, such as IIBA-AAC, PSPO or SAFe, is advantageous.
• Training or certification in the application of AI tooling to analysis and software engineering is advantageous.
