Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer for a fully remote, permanent role within South Africa. You will lead the design, development, integration, and testing of complex aircraft systems, with a focus on avionics, flight controls, power distribution, and environmental control systems, ensuring compliance with DO-178C/DO-254 and aviation standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in aerospace or related field, a Master’s preferred, 8+ years of experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive aircraft systems engineering experience with a focus on complex system integration.
• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS and Cameo; knowledge of DO-178C/DO-254.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of integrated aircraft systems while complying with aviation standards.
• Perform system-level analysis, simulations, and testing.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers for integration.
• Develop and maintain design specifications, test plans, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot complex aircraft system issues across the product lifecycle.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve engineering processes.
• Stay updated on aerospace advancements and propose innovations.
• Manage project timelines and remote deliverables.
• Conduct trade studies and propose optimal architectures.
• Contribute to proposals and bids for new projects.
