Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer to join a fully remote team. You will design, develop and integrate complex aircraft systems, ensuring safety and performance across avionics, propulsion, and hydraulics.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in systems engineering, strong MBSE experience, and familiarity with EASA/FAA processes. Remote work from Midrand, SA is supported with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive aircraft systems engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of avionics, flight controls, propulsion and hydraulics.
• Experience with DOORS, SysML and MBSE methodologies.
• Familiarity with EASA/FAA certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis and validation of integrated aircraft systems (avionics, propulsion, structure).
• Develop system requirements, specifications and interface control documents.
• Perform system integration testing and troubleshooting per standards.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and manufacturing teams for seamless development.
• Conduct FMEA and risk assessments on critical aircraft systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
