Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Aircraft Structural Mechanic for our field operations in George, Western Cape. You will join a maintenance facility focused on maintaining airworthiness by performing structural repairs and modifications with an emphasis on safety and quality.

The role requires reading complex drawings, applying precise sheet metal work, riveting, and composite repair skills, and mentoring junior team members within a structured structural repairs group.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as an Aircraft Structural Mechanic.
• Proficient in sheet metal fabrication, riveting techniques, and composite repair.
• Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and repair manuals.
• Holds relevant certifications or trade qualifications in aircraft structural maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Physically able to work in confined spaces and at heights, and to handle heavy components in George.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex structural repairs, modifications, and inspections on various aircraft types.
• Interpret engineering drawings, structural repair manuals, and technical specifications to guide repair work.
• Utilize precision tools and equipment for fabrication, riveting, and sheet metal work on aircraft structures.
