Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in CS, AI, ML, or related field.
• 5+ years in designing AI/ML solutions.
• Expertise in ML algorithms (deep learning, NLP, CV, RL).
• Proficient in Python and libraries (Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy).
• Hands-on with AWS, Azure, GCP and their ML services.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong data engineering and big data skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into AI solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication in a remote setting.
• Experience in Johannesburg or SA tech landscape is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end AI/ML solutions, from data ingestion and preprocessing to model deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to define AI project requirements and scope.
• Evaluate and select appropriate AI/ML frameworks, tools, and platforms (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, cloud AI services).
• Develop proof-of-concepts and prototypes to validate AI solution feasibility and demonstrate potential value.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and deployment guides.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members in the AI domain.
• Ensure AI solutions adhere to best practices in data privacy, security, and ethical AI principles.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing AI/ML solutions.
