Placements24 is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join its Pretoria-based team. You will leverage advanced analytical techniques and cutting-edge ML algorithms to extract actionable insights from complex datasets, driving data-informed decisions across the organization.

You will design predictive models, validate hypotheses with experiments, and collaborate with engineering to deploy models into production environments while staying abreast of AI advancements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist with a strong focus on AI/ML applications.
• Proficiency in Python or R, and experience with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
• Experience with SQL and working with relational databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and statistical analyses.
• Clean, transform, and prepare large datasets for analysis and modeling.
• Extract insights and generate reports to communicate findings to business stakeholders.
• Design and conduct A/B tests and other experiments to validate hypotheses.
