Placements24 is seeking a Senior Agricultural Engineer to lead design and implementation of agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, and farm infrastructure in East London, Eastern Cape. You will guide cross-functional teams, manage complex projects, and ensure sustainable, high‑quality engineering solutions.

The role requires advanced degrees in engineering, 7+ years of experience, and strong CAD/simulation know‑how, with a demonstrated ability to deliver on-time results in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of professional experience in agricultural engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, or farm infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of CAD software and simulation tools.
• Excellent project management and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and ability to work in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and implement agricultural machinery, equipment, and systems, including irrigation and drainage solutions.
• Oversee the development and improvement of farm infrastructure, such as storage facilities and processing plants.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide engineering solutions for agricultural challenges, optimizing resource use.
• Manage engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and other stakeholders to ensure engineered solutions meet operational needs.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines in all project activities.
