Qualifications

• Matric with accounting preferred.
• Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping is advantageous.
• 35 years experience in an Accounts Payable/Creditors role.
• Solid understanding of reconciliation principles.
• Computer literacy and strong attention to detail.
• Good verbal, written and listening skills.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• A control-focused and systematic approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplier accounts, process supplier invoices and reconcile supplier statements.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and ensure approvals are in place.
• Investigate and resolve supplier account and invoice queries within 60 days.
• Reconcile and maintain the general ledger control account monthly.
• Maintain accurate supplier information, including banking and tax details.
• Prepare and update the monthly payment planner and ensure payments are allocated correctly.
• Process invoices within month-end deadlines and prepare accrual reports.
• Verify delivery documentation and ensure all supporting documents are available before payments are released.
• Process and follow up on returns to suppliers (RTS) and outstanding credit notes.
• Allocate payments daily and distribute remittance advice to suppliers.
• Ensure COD payment requests have the appropriate approvals.
• Maintain accurate filing records and up-to-date purchase order information.
• Monitor payment terms and ensure supplier accounts remain current.
