Job summary

Exceed HR and Recruitment seeks a Senior Accountant for a permanent role based in Stellenbosch, focused on Agriculture / Wine Industry. You will handle wine costing, SAWIS submissions, and end-to-end accounting duties in a dynamic environment.

Requirements include a BCom Accounting or equivalent, SAIPA articles advantageous, 3+ years in wine accounting, fluent English and Afrikaans, and Sage Evolution 200 or similar experience. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting or similar qualification.
• Completed SAIPA articles advantageous.
• 3+ years’ experience in the wine industry preferred.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Experience with Sage Evolution 200 or a similar accounting package.
• Easipos / Point of Sale experience advantageous.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to take ownership and work independently.
• Professional, flexible and accountable with strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Process wine costing, manufacturing and sales analysis.
• Manage SAWIS and excise administration and monthly submissions.
• Process cashbooks, petty cash and daily cash-up reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger and process journal entries.
• Manage local and foreign debtors, including invoicing and collections.
• Manage local and foreign creditors, reconciliations and payments.
• Process international payments, foreign exchange differences and revaluations.
• Manage stock administration, invoice capturing and monthly stock takes.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and insurance policies.
• Assist with insurance claims and the annual audit process.
