Job summary

CA Support in Bellville, Western Cape, is seeking a qualified accounting professional with 5-7 years of financial experience. You will record, verify and consolidate transactions, prepare financial statements, manage VAT, and assist with audits in a dynamic team

Requirements include a relevant tertiary qualification in accounting and ideally SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles. IFRS knowledge and solid analytical skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a tertiary accounting qualification.
• 5-7 years financial experience.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, financial management, accounting principles and cost accounting.
• SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA articles advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Record, verify, consolidate and enter transactions to ensure accounting accuracy.
• Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries.
• Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Maintain general ledger and prepare trial balance.
• Prepare balance sheet, P&L and other statements.
• Analyse financial trends and provide monthly finance reporting.
• Prepare VAT submissions and payments.
• Create payment batches and manage weekly/monthly payments.
• Support external audits by providing ledger schedules and information.
• Assist with internal audits when required.
• Prepare forecast costs and revenues and budgets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
• Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analysing account information.
• Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
• Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet profit and loss, and other statements.
• Analyse financial trends.
• Monthly Finance Reporting.
• VAT Preparation and submissions.
• Creating payment batches
• Manage weekly and monthly payments.
• Completes external audit by analysing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.
• Assist with internal audits when required
• Prepare Forecast costs and Revenues.
• Prepare Budgets.
• Maintenance on asset registers
• Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
