Job summary

Nelson Mandela University seeks a Learning and Teaching Development professional to plan, design and collaboratively facilitate development activities that improve student learning.

The role entails coordinating a comprehensive strategy for academic staff, monitoring needs on the George campus, implementing induction, and contributing to policy, SoTL, and curriculum development under the Director of Teaching Development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education or Higher Education.
• At least five years’ experience in professional staff and curriculum development in higher education.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and participate in learning and teaching strategy development for academic staff.
• Monitor and support needs of academic staff on the George campus.
• Implement the Academic Induction Programme for newly appointed academics on the George campus.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to best practices of learning, teaching, and assessment.
• Contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).
• Holistically support collaborative curriculum development at institutional level.
• Engage with additional academic enhancement initiatives, as assigned by the Director of Teaching Development.
