Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior 2D Animator for their East London studio. The role focuses on leading high-quality 2D animation, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with directors and story artists to bring stories to life.

You will work within a hybrid studio environment, applying traditional animation principles and modern pipelines to deliver captivating content with a strong storytelling emphasis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in animation or fine arts.
• Minimum 6 years of professional 2D animation experience with a strong character portfolio.
• Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate or similar.
• Solid understanding of animation timing, spacing, anticipation and follow-through.
• Experience mentoring junior animators is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 2D character animations from scripts and storyboards.
• Collaborate with directors and story artists to implement animation direction.
• Ensure animations follow project style guides and quality standards.
• Provide feedback and guidance to junior animators to develop their skills.
• Manage animation timelines and deliverables to maintain efficient workflow.
• Experiment with new techniques to improve quality and efficiency.
