Placements24 is seeking a Senior 2D Animator for their East London studio. The role focuses on leading high-quality 2D animation, mentoring juniors, and collaborating with directors and story artists to bring stories to life.

You will work within a hybrid studio environment, applying traditional animation principles and modern pipelines to deliver captivating content with a strong storytelling emphasis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in animation or fine arts.
• Minimum 6 years of professional 2D animation experience with a strong character portfolio.
• Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate or similar.
• Solid understanding of animation timing, spacing, anticipation and follow-through.
• Experience mentoring junior animators is a plus.

Responsibilities

This role requires a deep understanding of traditional animation principles, a keen eye for character performance, and the ability to lead and mentor junior animators. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio showcasing diverse 2D animation work, a passion for storytelling, and the technical proficiency to work within modern animation pipelines. You will collaborate closely with directors, story artists, and other team members to deliver captivating animated content.

Key Responsibilities

• Proficiency in industry-standard 2D animation software such as Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, or similar.
• Solid understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, anticipation, and follow-through.
• Experience with rigging 2D characters is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
