Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Geophysicist with expertise in seismic interpretation to join our Durban exploration team. You will process, analyze and interpret seismic data to understand subsurface structures and identify viable hydrocarbon targets.

The role emphasizes collaboration with geologists and reservoir engineers, integration with well data, and using advanced interpretation workstations. Hybrid work setup available in Durban with competitive remuneration and benefits.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Geophysics or related earth science.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in seismic interpretation with exploration focus.
• Proficiency with seismic interpretation software (Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of seismic processing and attribute analysis.

Responsibilities

• Process, analyze and interpret seismic data to identify subsurface structures.
• Integrate seismic data with well logs, cores and other geological information.
• Generate prospect maps and geological models for exploration opportunities.
• Collaborate with Geologists and reservoir engineers on field development plans.
• Support exploration strategy with state-of-the-art interpretation workflows.
