Job summary

Sappi in Mpumalanga seeks a Save-all Production Assistant to provide effective administration and support to the line manager.

You will perform daily inspections, identify problems, report unresolved issues to Paper Specialist or Shift Superintendent, and ensure safe, clean operations with maximum efficiency on thickener/save-all equipment. Training opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) with Maths and Physical Science or an N3 in Pulp and Paper.
• N3 Engineering Studies will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections on Kraft liner board, Newsprint and Groundwood thickeners/save-alls.
• Identify operational or mechanical problems and ensure corrections.
• Report to Paper Specialist or Shift Superintendent if problems cannot be fixed in the run.
• Clean and maintain Thickeners/save-alls daily.
• Ensure that thickeners/save-all run at maximum efficiency at all times.
• Prepare sector bags.
• Supervise contractors working on Thickener/save-all during shuts on ground wood.
• Ensure good housekeeping.
• Comply with all the relevant Safety, health, Environment, and quality requirements.

Education
