Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking a Course Manager to oversee the learning design life cycle within their Learning & Inclusion & Recognition team. SATIC - LI&R: Programmes - Course Manager

South African Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC) is part of PwC, delivering services to global clients and transforming businesses through technology-enabled professional solutions.

The Learning & Inclusion & Recognition (LI&R) team aims to provide learners with the best learning experience. The team, comprising Course Managers, Course Executives, and Training Coordinators, leads projects from strategy to evaluation, managing risk, finances, and commercial aspects. Key duties include planning, scheduling, sourcing suppliers and venues, building curricula onto our learner management system, managing supplier relationships, and evaluating outcomes.

The Course Manager collaborates with team leaders to ensure that learning interventions are delivered effectively—from design through implementation and evaluation. The role also maintains ongoing service delivery and works with key stakeholders and L&D colleagues to achieve objectives.

Requirements
  • 5‑7 years of experience in a similar consulting role
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Excellent project, risk, and budget management skills, including ownership of multiple budgets
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels and collaborate to create value
  • Experience coaching/supervising junior team members and fostering a trustworthy environment
  • Strong interest in learning design, delivery, and the 70:20:10 framework
  • Proficient use of online collaboration tools
Key Responsibilities
  • Project‑manage all stages of the learning design life cycle for individual programmes, ensuring effective operation and continuous improvement.
  • Accountable for project initiation, budget control, risk management, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other L&D teams to implement and achieve planned activities.
  • Implement tutor briefings ahead of programmes.
  • Define scope, obtain sign‑off, and manage relationships with third‑party suppliers, ensuring service quality and SLA compliance.
  • Serve as escalation point for programme queries and risks, working with the team lead as required.
  • Support the Course Executive in drafting implementation plans and defining logistical requirements.
  • Coach and supervise junior members of the learning experience team.
