Job Summary :

The primary purpose of this job is to conduct Sales & Business Development activities for Measurement Solutions (Pressure, Temp, Analyzer, Flow, and Level Field Instrumentation, Wireless products) within the Metals and Mining Industry across South Africa and Southern African Countries. The role focuses on promoting traditional Measurement Solutions technology, displacing competitors, exploring new applications, and encouraging technology adoption of Emerson products to grow the business in the metals & mining sector.

Responsibilities include :

  • Driving sales, supporting project pursuits, and meeting or exceeding financial targets for the Metals & Mining industry.
  • Identifying growth opportunities and managing all sales opportunities within key accounts (Mining Customers, EPCs, System Integrators) across South Africa, Southern, and East African countries.
  • Understanding application challenges and needs in field instrumentation and recommending appropriate Emerson Measurement solutions.
  • Developing and executing sales strategies to penetrate new customers and projects, maintaining accurate pursuit lists and monthly sales forecasts.
  • Providing regular reports and forecasts to the Sales Director and achieving monthly sales targets.
  • Enhancing customer satisfaction by understanding their needs and providing suitable solutions.
  • Collaborating with regional sales teams, product managers, and cross-business units to ensure competitive and timely proposals.
  • Liaising with customers and internal teams to prioritize efforts, gather intelligence, and improve service.
  • Staying updated on industry trends, product developments, and market conditions.
  • Preparing marketing forecasts, pricing surveys, and competitor intelligence, partnering with regional managers.
  • Working with other Emerson groups to enhance content and identify new opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders influencing buying decisions.
  • Fulfilling additional duties as required and ensuring compliance with trade procedures.

  • Results-oriented, taking initiative to find opportunities and drive plans to meet sales goals.
  • Problem-solving skills.

Requirements :

  • Engineering degree or relevant experience.
  • Minimum years of sales and marketing experience, specifically in selling Field Instrumentation (Pressure/Temp transmitters, Flow meters, Level measurement, Analyzers) to Metals & Mining customers.
  • Knowledge of the Metals & Mining Industry.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Track record of business growth.
  • Extensive relationships with Metals & Mining end users, EPCs, and consultants.
