Minimum requirements (Advantageous):

Qualifications

• Professional Accountant (SA) registered with SAIPA.

Experience

• Minimum 1+ year's post articles experience.
• Experience managing a team and client engagements.
• Knowledge of Draftworx (or equivalent auditing software), Xero, payroll packages and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Self-motivated with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Strong planning, coordination and prioritisation skills.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Processing accounting transactions up to trial balance.
• Compilation of annual financial statements according to IFRS for SME’s.
• Company and Trust Income Tax Return calculation and submission.
• Provisional tax calculation and submission.
• VAT reconciliation, calculation and submission.
• Personal income tax calculations and submissions.
• Supervising and providing guidance to bookkeepers/trainees, if applicable.
• Review of work performed by bookkeepers/trainees, including accounting processing, Annual Financial Statements, Income Tax Returns, Provisional tax calculations, VAT and EMP recons and submissions.
• Raising adequate review queries on work performed by bookkeepers/trainees to promote a learning environment and to assist the Accountants with their workload.
• Assist the Accountants with managing client portfolios and maintaining sound client relationships.
• Leading team training sessions on occasion.
• Providing IGrow investors with guidance, by implementing trusts as well as corporate and commercial structures, to optimise tax benefits, wealth creation and risk mitigation.
• Supervising timely submission of all deliverables.
• SARS appointments and queries.
• Any other output that may be reasonably required from this role.
