Job summary

Wenz in Cape Town seeks a Health and Safety Officer registered with SACPCMP to lead safety compliance on site in Epping. You will identify hazards, conduct inspections, and drive incident investigations to reduce risk.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in construction/electrical/civil engineering, a Matric certificate, SAMTRAC, and a National Diploma in Health/Safety Management is advantageous. Salary ranges from R30 000 to R35 000 per month.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience within a Construction/Electrical/Civil Engineering Industry.
• Matric Certificate.
• SAMTRAC (NQF Level 5).
• National Diploma - Health/Safety Management (NQF Level 6) Advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential hazards in the workplace.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
• Recommend measures to reduce or eliminate risks.
• Ensure company policies align with national safety legislation.
• Conduct safety training for staff.
• Raise awareness about safety practices and regulations.
• Investigate accidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA or other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections and trainings.
