Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Program Assistant for its Upington, Northern Cape operations. You will support program officers in planning, execution, and monitoring of community development initiatives across agriculture, education, and health sectors.

The role involves data collection, workshop coordination, and liaison with community members and partners to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations. Ideal candidates are organized, detail‑oriented, and motivated to contribute to rural upliftment.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Community Development, Social Sciences, Rural Development, Administration or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and logistical support to program officers and project activities in Upington.
• Assist in organising workshops, training sessions, and meetings.
• Support data collection and record-keeping for program monitoring and evaluation.
• Conduct community outreach to disseminate information and gather feedback.
• Prepare program reports, presentations, and correspondence under supervision.
• Manage program supplies and documentation; liaise with community members and partners.
• Coordinate volunteer activities and support field office operations in Northern Cape.
