Job summary

IMETA is seeking a Ruminant Technical Manager based in Johannesburg, South Africa, to drive sustainable growth of the ruminant portfolio through technical excellence and strong commercial partnerships.

You will serve as the trusted technical partner to veterinarians, feedlots, and dairy/beef producers, while supporting product launches, portfolio development, and market expansion initiatives.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (BVSc) and registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC).
• 5–8 years’ experience in cattle health, animal health, or related fields in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical expert for the ruminant portfolio in South Africa.
• Build and maintain relationships with veterinarians, feedlots, dairy and beef producers, and distributors.
• Provide technical support to strategic accounts including training, workshops, and tailored herd health programs.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, KAMs, and Distributor teams to support business objectives and market share growth.
• Lead technical readiness and engagement for new product launches and portfolio development.
• Monitor disease trends and production challenges, ensuring scientifically accurate communications.
• Oversee field trials, demonstrations, and local evidence generation to strengthen product positioning.
• Represent the company at congresses, producer meetings, and industry forums.
