Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Veterinary Technology, Agriculture, or related field.
• Master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
• Minimum 5 years experience in livestock management with ruminants.
• Experience with data analysis and herd management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop herd health and management programs for ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats).
• Monitor animal health, welfare and productivity; implement corrective actions.
• Oversee feeding programs to optimize nutrition and feed conversion ratios.
• Manage breeding programs including artificial insemination and genetics.
• Maintain records of herd performance, health treatments, and breeding activities.
• Advise on pasture management and grazing strategies for sustainability.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and regulations.
• Analyze herd data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide guidance and training to farm staff on livestock management practices.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and other specialists to ensure health.
