Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a competent Well Site Supervisor to oversee drilling and well completion operations at field locations starting in the Upington area. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage personnel, equipment, and daily activities to meet operational objectives in the Oil & Gas sector.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Well Site Supervisor or Rig Manager in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong background in drilling operations, well control, and safety management.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent understanding of drilling equipment, procedures, and best practices.
• Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations and standards.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a remote field environment.
• Relevant certifications in drilling operations and safety preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all drilling and workover operations on the rig site, ensuring adherence to plans and procedures.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and regulations.
• Manage and coordinate the activities of rig crews, service company personnel, and other site staff.
• Monitor operational performance, troubleshoot issues, and make timely decisions to maintain progress.
• Oversee the proper use and maintenance of drilling equipment and materials.
• Prepare daily operational reports, documenting progress, challenges, and resource utilization.
• Facilitate effective communication between the rig site and onshore operational support teams.
