Status Staffing in Cape Town is seeking a capable Retail Sales Supervisor to lead the team, drive customer service excellence, and meet sales targets. The role focuses on overseeing daily operations, maintaining housekeeping standards, and expanding the customer database.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support to the Retail Sales Team.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the Retail Sales Team, maintaining high standards of customer service and achieving budgeted sales.
• Grow the existing customer database.
• Accountable for an individual sales target and model best face-to-face sales and service.
• Prepare and complete reports for management and ensure team administration aligns with policies.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years supervisory experience in the leather industry.


• Minimum of 3+ years’ retail or shop floor experience within the leather merchant industry.


• Matric (Grade 12) qualification is essential.


• Tertiary education is advantageous.


• Strong understanding of sales and marketing systems within a retail environment.


• Demonstrated ability to deliver results with a proven track record of success.


• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while being a strong team player.


• Strong time management and organisational skills.


• Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire a team effectively.


• High level of emotional intelligence.


• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Duties

• Accountable for an individual sales target and acting as a role model in face-to-face sales and customer service excellence.


• Prepare and complete daily, monthly, and yearly reports for management, ensuring all team administration is carried out in line with company policies and procedures.
