Job summary

Cashbuild Limited Moratiwa Crossing is seeking a General Assistant to deliver comprehensive customer service in-store. You will assist shoppers, help with stock merchandizing and ensure shelves are correctly labelled and kept in good order.

The role requires reliable teamwork, ability to work shifts including weekends and public holidays, and accuracy in routine calculations. You will maintain store cleanliness and follow safety and layout guidelines to create a welcoming shopping environment.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or NQF 3 with 1 year related work experience, or Grade 12 with no related experience.
• Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area.
• Valid South African ID or work permit.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist Customers on correct products and queries.
• Assist with and resolve Customer complaints.
• Bulk stock area to be merchandised safely and according to Store layout plan.
• Must ensure your area of responsibility is fully merchandised according to Store layout and planograms.
• Ensure that your area is free of obstacles, stock is merchandised immediately after being received and that Customers can enter and leave your aisle without any risk of injury or irritation.
• Correct shelf price labelling within area of responsibility.
• Ensure Checklist completed as required when on duty with Canteen and Toilet/Showers schedule.
• Safety (OHSA) compliance within area of responsibility.
• Area of responsibility stock merchandised safe to Customers and Colleagues to move safely.
• Report any discrepancies to the Store Manager.
• Report damaged stock within area of responsibility to Store Manager.
• Integrity: comply with standards, creates realistic expectations, is sincere, handles sensitive information carefully.
• Accuracy: handle detailed information, work orderly, check work for mistakes.
• Client focus: identify and respond to clients' wishes, make clients feel welcome, and pursue personal development.
