Job summary

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Cashier for its Valley View stores. You will support customer service at the point of sale and record transactions in the Dis-Chem system with accuracy, following SOPs and policies.

The role requires Grade 12, at least 6 months cashier experience, and strong English communication. Retail hours apply, and confidentiality in handling cash and takings is essential.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Minimum of 6 months’ cashier/till experience.
• Computer literacy – MS Office
• Sound numerical skills
• Strong command of the English language
• Basic customer service
• Willing and able to work retail hours

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Dis-Chem customer service policies and procedures.
• Establish a professional relationship with customers.
• Process all payments accurately and securely.
• Report customer complaints and compliments to management.
• Maintain till accuracy and cash handling procedures.
• Be aware of current sales and promotions.
• Ensure security of cash and stock, including drop safes.
