Job summary

DO MORE Placements is recruiting an Accountant (Retail) for the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. The role reports to the finance team and focuses on balance sheet reconciliations, debtors management, and tax compliance in a busy retail environment.

Responsibilities include monthly reporting, fixed asset maintenance, audit support, VAT and tax submissions, and collaboration with HR on finance matters. Minimum 4 years in retail accounting preferred; SAIPA/SAICA articles advantageous.

Qualifications

• Relevant accounting qualification such as a BCom Accounting degree or equivalent.
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles would be advantageous.
• Approximately 4+ years’ experience in a similar accounting position, preferably within a retail, importing, wholesale or distribution environment.
• Sound knowledge of VAT, Income Tax and Ad Valorem tax requirements.
• Strong experience in balance sheet reconciliations and debtors management.
• Experience working with NetSuite or a similar accounting system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Able to work independently, prioritise competing deadlines and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different departments.
