Hire Resolve is seeking a qualified Accountant for a retail company in Pietermaritzburg. The role covers financial reporting, budgeting, intercompany accounting, and audits support across multiple branches.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 3–5 years' experience in retail accounting, and proficiency in QuickBooks or Sage. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional accounting designation is a plus (AGA(SA), SAIPA, SAICA, etc).
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, forecasts, and budgets.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare tax returns and assist with tax planning.
• Provide financial analysis and reporting to management.
• Monitor and maintain internal controls.
• Assist with audits and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Experience with recurring Journals.
• Experience with Intercompany Accounting.
