Job summary

NHS Grampian in Aberdeen is seeking a flexible Healthcare Support Worker to join the Pulmonary Function and Sleep Team on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. You will assist with routine lung function tests and support sleep apnoea patients, working within a multidisciplinary respiratory medicine team at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.

Training will be provided; strong communication and a patient-centered approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills and an aptitude for working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Familiarity with healthcare settings and data collection processes is desirable.
• Interest in human physiology and quality control within a clinical environment.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in Respiratory Medicine.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of routine lung function tests.
• Provide support to sleep apnoea patients.
• Work as part of the multidisciplinary team within Respiratory Medicine.
• Operate with minimal supervision from qualified respiratory physiologists.
