Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Residential Property Valuer for field-based work across the Durban metropolitan area and surrounding regions. You will assess market values for sales, rentals, financing and legal matters, delivering comprehensive valuation reports with strong analytical backing.

The ideal candidate holds a related tertiary qualification, SACPVP registration or eligibility, and at least 4 years of residential valuation experience, with proficiency in valuation software and MS

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Property Studies, Real Estate, or related field.
• SACPVP registration as Professional Valuer or Candidate Valuer is essential.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in residential property valuation.
• In-depth knowledge of the Durban and KwaZulu-Natal market dynamics.
• Proficiency in valuation software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of residential properties to assess condition, features and market desirability.
• Research and analyze comparable sales data, market trends and economic factors influencing values in KwaZulu-Natal.

• Prepare detailed and accurate residential property valuation reports using standardized methodologies and company templates.
• Provide expert opinions on property values for a diverse client base, including financial institutions, legal firms, and private individuals.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of local property laws, regulations, and valuation standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with estate agents, developers, and other industry professionals.
• Ensure all valuation activities comply with industry ethics and professional standards.
• Assist in dispute resolution regarding property valuations when necessary.

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Property Studies, Real Estate, or a related field.
• Professional registration with the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession (SACPVP) as a Professional Valuer or Candidate Valuer is essential.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in residential property valuation.
• In-depth knowledge of the Durban and wider KwaZulu-Natal property market dynamics.
• Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent understanding of valuation principles, techniques, and reporting standards.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional report writing and presentation skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the designated service area.
• Professional demeanor and strong client-facing skills.
