Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) and SACAP registration.
• Minimum of 6 years post-qualification residential design experience.
• A portfolio showcasing a range of high-quality bespoke residential projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling/rendering programs (e.g., SketchUp, Lumion).
• Knowledge of residential construction techniques, materials, and detailing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process for bespoke residential projects from concept development to detailed construction drawings.
• Engage with clients to understand lifestyle, preferences, and budget, translating these into architectural designs.
• Develop innovative floor plans, elevations, and 3D models for residences.
• Prepare detailed specifications and documentation for planning applications and construction.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, M&E consultants, and other specialists throughout the design process.
• Ensure designs comply with building regulations, zoning laws, and aesthetic standards in Pietermaritzburg.
• Conduct site visits to oversee design implementation during construction.

You will manage projects from initial client consultations through to the detailed architectural documentation stage, collaborating with builders and engineers to bring designs to life.
