About the Role

Our client, a highly regarded architectural firm based in Benoni, Gauteng , is seeking a dedicated Residential Architect Specialist to design and manage high-end residential projects. This role focuses on creating bespoke homes that blend sophisticated aesthetics with functional living spaces, tailored to the unique needs and desires of discerning clients. You will be involved in all stages of the design process, from initial client consultations and conceptual development to detailed documentation and site supervision. The ideal candidate will possess an exceptional eye for detail, a passion for residential design, and a strong understanding of contemporary architectural trends and sustainable building practices. Key Responsibilities

Lead the architectural design of custom residential properties, from concept to completion. Develop detailed architectural drawings, renderings, and models for client presentations. Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, needs, and lifestyle. Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and planning permissions. Select appropriate materials, finishes, and fixtures that align with the project’s aesthetic and budget. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other consultants throughout the design and construction phases. Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in residential architecture and sustainable design. Manage project timelines and budgets effectively, ensuring client satisfaction.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design, with a strong focus on high-end residential projects. Proven ability to create elegant and functional residential designs, demonstrated by a strong portfolio. Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and rendering applications. Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes relevant to residential construction. Strong client management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly. Experience in managing project budgets and schedules. A collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively within a team. Registration with the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) or equivalent is highly desirable.
