Guardian Recruiting (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Travel Reservations Consultant to join our USA team. You will handle enquiries from travel agents, convert them into bookings and craft tailor-made holiday packages across long-haul destinations.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years' holiday sales experience with strong destination knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple bookings under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience selling holidays in a tour operator or long-haul travel environment.
• Strong destination knowledge and sales experience in at least one of USA, Dubai/UAE, Thailand or African Safari.
• Proven ability to convert enquiries into bookings and meet sales targets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; well organised and able to manage multiple bookings under pressure.

Travel Reservations Consultant - USA Team

We're looking for an experienced Travel Reservations Consultant to join our client's team, handling enquiries from travel agents and converting them into confirmed bookings across their long-haul travel programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle telephone and email enquiries from travel agents.
• Convert enquiries into bookings and proactively follow up on leads.
• Create tailor-made holiday packages including flights, accommodation, transfers, tours and ancillary services.
• Use destination expertise to recommend, upsell and cross-sell suitable travel products.
• Offer alternative solutions where required.
• Achieve monthly sales and conversion targets while delivering exceptional service to agent partners.
• Assist with other duties and projects as required.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience selling holidays, ideally within a tour operator or long-haul travel environment.
• Strong destination knowledge and sales experience in at least one of the following:
  • USA
  • Dubai/UAE
  • Thailand
  • African Safari
• Proven ability to convert enquiries into bookings and achieve sales targets.
• Excellent geographical knowledge and passion for travel.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple bookings and work effectively under pressure.
• Confident using standard PC systems (full training provided on in-house systems).

Desirable

• Experience selling multiple core destinations.
• GDS experience (Galileo advantageous but not essential).

Working Hours

Monday to Friday: 15:00–00:00 or 16:00–01:00.
