A leading medical research institution in South Africa is seeking a qualified Research Technologist for a 1-year contract. This role involves coordinating the Heat adaptation benefits research study, including managing field research activities, supervising staff, and ensuring effective data management. The SAMRC’s Environment and Health Research Unit (E&HRU) requires a suitably qualified and experienced Research Technologist. The position is associated with the Heat adaptation benefits for vulnerable groups in Africa (HABVIA) study, funded by the Wellcome Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the study co-investigator in varied aspects of coordinating the research project, in particular, in the Thohoyandou study site in Limpopo. This will include coordination of meetings and field research activities, budgeting, procurement of equipment and services for the project, and ensuring the project team is supported in their operational needs.
