Job summary

Rhodes University in Makhanda invites applications for an Internal Project Coordinator on a 2-year contract (Grade 13) to support the Department of Human Kinetics and Ergonomics. You will coordinate research activities, supervise data collection, assist with ethics submissions and reporting, and manage field staff and drivers.

A B Degree (NQF 7) with about three years of relevant experience is required, along with strong administrative and report-writing skills.

Qualifications

B Degree (NQF level 7) with approximately 3 years relevant experience.
Experience with word-processing, e-mail and the internet.
Experience writing reports.
Valid driver’s licence - useful but not really necessary if they can get around.
Two years’ experience coordinating or managing research studies is an advantage.
Financial administration and meeting minute-taking experience.

Responsibilities

Provide research support to the Principal Investigator and department team.
Coordinate study procedures and supervise preparation of data collection procedures.
Oversee participant recruitment, data collection and monitoring.
Manage staffing, field monitoring, scheduling, and grant reporting.
Assist with ethics applications, as well as grant and ethics reports.
Supervise and manage drivers, community liaison and fieldworkers.
