Job summary

bolttech is seeking a Samsung Mobile Repair Technician in Johannesburg for a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will diagnose, repair, test, and verify Samsung mobile devices in line with Samsung procedures and turnaround times.

The role requires troubleshooting, hardware/software fault diagnosis, and adherence to repair standards, data confidentiality, and company processes in a fast-growing insurtech environment.

Qualifications

• Grade12/Matric or equivalent.
• Technical qualifications or relevant training in the product category.
• Experience repairing mobile phones or electronic devices.
• Experience with software-related troubleshooting and repairs.
• Previous Samsung mobile repair experience is an advantage.
• Samsung training or certification is an advantage.
• Experience in an OEM-authorized repair center.
• Experience with ESD-controlled repair environments.
• Experience using Samsung diagnostic and repair systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect Samsung mobile devices allocated for repair.
• Perform accurate fault diagnosis using approved Samsung diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Identify hardware and software faults and determine repair action.
• Verify reported faults before repairs and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Follow Samsung repair manuals, SOPs, and procedures.
• Record diagnostic findings accurately in the system.
• Ensure correct tools and parts are used and prevent device damage.
• Complete pre- and post-repair diagnostics and verify device functionality.

In this position you will…

The Samsung Mobile Repair Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, testing, and quality verification of Samsung mobile devices in accordance with Samsung technical procedures, repair standards, safety requirements, and agreed turnaround times.

The technician must consistently deliver high-quality repairs while maintaining productivity, accuracy, customer data confidentiality, and compliance with the company's repair processes.

You will be responsible for…

• Receive and inspect Samsung mobile devices allocated for repair.
• Perform accurate fault diagnosis using approved Samsung diagnostic tools and procedures.
• Identify hardware and software-related faults.
• Verify reported customer faults before commencing repairs.
• Determine the appropriate repair action based on technical guidelines.
• Escalate complex or non-standard faults to the Line Leader or Technical Support team.
• Ensure all diagnostic findings are accurately recorded in the relevant system.
• Follow Samsung repair manuals, technical bulletins, SOPs, and approved repair procedures.
• Ensure correct tools, fixtures, adhesives, and replacement parts are used.
• Prevent damage to devices during the repair process.
• Perform software-related troubleshooting and approved software repairs.
• Conduct required firmware/software updates where applicable.
• Complete all required pre and post-repair diagnostic tests.
• Verify functionality of repaired devices, including where applicable:
• Ensure devices meet the required Samsung functional and quality standards before release.
