Job summary

Cash Crusaders in Muizenberg, Cape Town, is seeking a skilled General Repair Technician to diagnose faults and repair appliances, electronics, and motorised equipment. You will work hands-on with multimeters, soldering irons, and socket sets, taking pride in fixing issues properly rather than patching.

You should possess strong fault-finding abilities across electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems, be comfortable across multiple product categories, and log repairs accurately.

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled, hands‑on General Repair Technician to join our team. We need someone that is genuinely versatile, who's equally comfortable with a multimeter, a soldering iron, and a socket set. If you enjoy diagnosing faults, fixing things properly (not just patching them), and taking pride in a job well done, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Repairing

• Fridges & Freezers — compressor systems, thermostats, gas circuits, and general cooling faults
• Washing Machines — motors, pumps, control boards, drum and bearing issues
• Home Theatre Amplifiers — audio circuitry, power supplies, connectivity and output faults
• Car Sound Equipment — head units, amps, speakers, wiring and installation faults
• Compressors — diagnostics, servicing, and rebuilds across various applications
• Power Tools — motors, switches, gearboxes, batteries and chargers

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience repairing appliances, electronics, or motorised equipment (formal qualification in electrical/electronics/mechanical trades is an advantage, but solid hands‑on experience counts just as much)
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems
• Comfortable working across multiple product categories rather than a single specialty
• Own tools (or willingness to work with company‑supplied equipment)
• Reliable, safety‑conscious, and quality‑driven approach to workmanship
• Good communication skills and the ability to log/report on repairs accurately
