Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Renewable Energy Systems Engineer for our Upington-based team to design, integrate, and optimize solar PV, battery storage and hybrid solutions. You will develop schematics, perform yield assessments, and ensure compliance with industry standards across diverse projects in the Northern Cape.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3–5 years of experience in renewable energy system design, has hands-on experience with

• 3–5 years of experience in the design and engineering of renewable energy systems, including solar PV and battery storage.
• Proficiency with design software and simulation tools (PVSyst, AutoCAD).

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer renewable energy systems, including sizing of components like solar panels, inverters, and battery storage.
• Develop system schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Perform energy yield assessments and system performance analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to renewable energy system performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in the design and engineering of renewable energy systems , particularly solar PV and battery storage.
