Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking telecommunications company, is seeking an exceptional Remote Telecoms Network Architect to design and oversee the evolution of their network infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa while impacting network strategy on a national scale. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and guiding the implementation of next-generation network solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in network architecture, a deep understanding of current and emerging telecom technologies (including 5G, SDN, NFV), and a proven ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technical designs. This role requires a visionary leader who can anticipate future trends and proactively shape our client's network roadmap, serving regions such as Kimberley, Northern Cape. Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications network design and architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of IP networking, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and other routing/switching protocols.
• Deep understanding of mobile network architectures (e.g., 4G/LTE, 5G NR, Core).
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM) and concepts (SDN, NFV).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their application in telco environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects and influence stakeholders.
