Placements24 is seeking a Remote Operations Manager to optimize technology infrastructure, streamline workflows, and oversee IT projects in a fully remote team based near Randburg. The role requires leadership of remote technical teams, vendor management, and driving efficiency across systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, 5+ years in tech operations, and experience with ITIL-aligned processes, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years in operations management within technology, with significant remote work experience.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing and DevOps principles.
• Experience managing operational aspects of software development and deployment.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Familiarity with ITIL or ITSM frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational aspects of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycle, and cloud services.
• Implement and manage operational processes that support remote technical teams and ensure system uptime.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reliability of technology operations.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, including SOPs and incident response plans.
• Coordinate the deployment of new technologies and system updates across the organization.
• Monitor key operational metrics related to system performance, security, and user support.
