Placements24 is seeking a Remote Sustainable Tourism Specialist to champion eco-friendly travel practices. You will develop and implement strategies that promote environmentally and socially responsible tourism, advise stakeholders, and create educational resources for industry professionals and travelers.

The role requires a Master’s degree, 5+ years in sustainable tourism, and the ability to work remotely with a global reach.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Sustainable Tourism, Environmental Science, Conservation, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainable tourism development, ecotourism, or conservation programs.
In-depth knowledge of sustainability principles, certifications, and impact assessment methodologies.
Proven ability to develop and implement effective sustainability strategies.
Excellent research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Strong communication and presentation abilities, comfortable working remotely.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine sustainable tourism policies, guidelines, and best practices.
Conduct sustainability assessments and audits for tourism businesses and destinations.
Create training materials and resources on sustainable tourism for industry professionals and travelers.
Advise stakeholders on implementing eco-friendly initiatives and community engagement strategies.
Monitor and report on the environmental and social impact of tourism activities.
Collaborate with NGOs, government agencies, and industry associations to advance sustainable tourism.
