Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Sustainable Farming Consultant to guide agricultural businesses in adopting environmentally friendly practices. The role focuses on organic farming, regenerative agriculture, water management, biodiversity, and soil health from a remote location.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field, 7+ years of experience, and strong analytical, communication, and independent-work capabilities.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Sustainable Agriculture, Environmental Science, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in sustainable agriculture, conservation, or environmental consulting.
• In-depth knowledge of regenerative agriculture principles, organic farming methods, and soil health management.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective sustainability strategies for agricultural operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely.
• Experience with environmental impact assessments and conservation planning is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Assess current farming practices of clients and identify opportunities for improving sustainability.
• Develop customized sustainable farming plans tailored to client needs, crop types, and local conditions.
• Advise on practices such as cover cropping, no-till farming, composting, and integrated pest management.
• Educate clients on water conservation techniques, efficient irrigation, and watershed management.
• Provide guidance on enhancing biodiversity on farms, including pollinator habitats and native plantings.
• Stay current with research and best practices in sustainable agriculture and environmental stewardship.
