Placements24 is seeking a Remote Sustainable Design Architect to lead sustainable design across projects from a fully remote setup. You will drive energy modeling, materials research, and certification processes (LEED/Green Star SA) while coordinating with engineers and consultants.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years in sustainable architecture, expertise in IES VE, EnergyPlus and Revit, and a strong portfolio. Remote work offers flexibility while contributing to Soweto-area projects in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Architecture with a specialization in Sustainable Design.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience focusing on sustainable architecture and green building practices.
• Accreditation as a LEED AP or Green Star SA Accredited Professional is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in energy simulation software (IES VE, EnergyPlus) and BIM software (Revit).
• Strong understanding of passive design strategies, renewable energy systems, and circular economy principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
• A portfolio showcasing successful sustainable design projects.
• Passion for environmental stewardship and innovative green design solutions.
• Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead the integration of sustainable design strategies across all project phases.
• Conduct energy modeling, daylight analysis, and other performance simulations.
• Research and specify sustainable materials, systems, and technologies.
• Manage the process for achieving green building certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Star SA).
• Collaborate with remote project teams, including engineers and consultants, to optimize design performance.
• Develop detailed design documentation and reports focused on sustainability.
• Stay informed about the latest trends, research, and regulations in sustainable architecture.
• Mentor junior staff on sustainable design principles and practices.
• Communicate design intent and sustainability benefits effectively to clients and stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of the firm's sustainable design standards and methodologies.
