Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is a rapidly growing solar energy solutions provider seeking a talented and detail-oriented Remote Solar PV Design Engineer to join their team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical design and optimization of residential, commercial, and industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. You will work closely with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure designs are efficient, compliant with regulations, and meet client needs. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical designs and system layouts for solar PV installations using industry-standard software.
• Perform site assessments and analyze structural, electrical, and shading factors to optimize system performance.

• Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical codes, building codes, and South African National Standards (SANS).
• Select appropriate components such as solar panels, inverters, mounting structures, and wiring.
• Create bills of materials (BOMs) and technical specifications for procurement and installation.
