Job summary

Simera is seeking a detail-oriented Software Tester to evaluate software applications, ensure quality, and deliver a reliable user experience. You will execute manual and automated tests, review requirements, create test artifacts, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects.

The role covers functional, regression, exploratory, and cross-browser testing, with a focus on maintaining test documentation and supporting release validation.

Qualifications

• Strong grounding in software testing and QA principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience creating and executing test cases and scenarios.
• Able to identify, reproduce, and document defects clearly.
• Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools.
• Understanding of functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
• Basic knowledge of web tech, APIs, databases, or SQL is beneficial.
• Familiarity with automated testing concepts and tools is beneficial.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and professionally.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Able to manage multiple testing activities and meet deadlines.
• Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute manual and automated tests to verify software functionality and quality.
• Review requirements, user stories, and specs to identify testing needs.
• Create and maintain test cases, scenarios, and scripts.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, usability, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, reproduce, document, and track defects with clear steps and evidence.
• Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing after updates.
• Validate software against business and technical requirements.
• Conduct cross-browser, cross-platform, and device testing when required.
• Collaborate with developers, PMs, designers, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Maintain records of test results and testing progress.
• Participate in release testing and deployment validation.
• Support UAT and production validation as needed.
• Monitor testing progress and communicate quality risks.
