Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Senior Transportation Engineer to lead the design of road and highway networks across South Africa. You will plan, design, and implement transportation projects ensuring safety, efficiency and sustainability from a home office.

The role requires a Master’s in Transportation or Civil Engineering, Pr Eng with ECSA, and 8+ years in road/highway design, with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MX Road, VISSIM or SIDRA. Remote work is a core feature of this position.

Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in transportation-related field.
Pr Eng registration with ECSA required.
Minimum 8 years in transportation engineering, road/highway focus.

Responsibilities

Lead geometric design of roads, highways and interchanges.
Develop traffic analysis and modeling to optimize safety and network performance.
Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
Manage project timelines, budgets and resources for transportation tasks.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams via digital collaboration tools.
Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and standards.
Provide remote guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure project success.
Contribute to innovative transportation solutions and technologies.
