Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk Manager to lead the risk function in a fully remote banking and finance environment. You will oversee identification, assessment, and mitigation of enterprise risks and ensure robust governance and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing ERM frameworks and risk mitigation strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel Accords, SARB regulations) and best practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
• Experience working in a fully remote or distributed team environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk management framework.
• Identify, assess, and monitor key risks including operational, market, credit, and strategic risks.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Prepare regular risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
• Lead and mentor the risk management team, fostering a culture of risk awareness and accountability.
