About the Role

Our client is a highly respected, nationwide construction and development company looking for an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa while contributing to significant projects across the country. You will be responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial calculations to final figures. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed within budget and that financial records are maintained accurately. The ideal candidate possesses a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record in cost management within the construction sector. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, from the tendering stage through to completion.
• Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor and control project expenditures, identifying and reporting on any deviations from the budget.
• Prepare and submit monthly cost reports, cash flow projections, and final accounts for projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a significant portion of that experience in managing costs for large-scale construction projects.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, JBCC) and procurement methods.
• Strong proficiency in cost estimation software and standard office productivity suites.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
• Membership in a professional body such as the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage complex financial aspects of construction projects.
