Job summary

Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a highly analytical Senior Quantitative Analyst to join a remote-first team from Centurion, Gauteng. You will develop and implement complex financial models for pricing and risk management, collaborating with global colleagues.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s/PhD in a quantitative field, 5+ years in quantitative finance, and strong skills in Python, R, or C++.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a quantitative field (Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or CS).
• 5+ years of experience in quantitative finance, preferably remote or hybrid.
• Experience developing/implementing financial models (derivatives pricing, risk management, algo trading).
• Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas), R, or C++.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and trading strategies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and in a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and implement quantitative models for pricing, risk management, and portfolio optimization.
• Conduct in-depth statistical analysis and data mining to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with trading desks, risk management, and product teams to provide insights.
• Design and build models and algorithms using Python, R, or C++.
• Back-test and stress-test models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulation, and research in quantitative finance.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the firm's quantitative library.
• Mentor junior analysts and promote knowledge sharing within the remote team.
