About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished and highly organized Senior Legal Associate with expertise in Commercial Contracts to join their fully remote legal department. This role is crucial for supporting the company's extensive network of partners, suppliers, and clients by ensuring all contractual agreements are meticulously drafted, reviewed, and managed. You will be at the forefront of safeguarding the company's commercial interests through robust contract lifecycle management. This position demands a proactive individual with excellent drafting skills and the ability to manage a high volume of complex contracts efficiently, all while working from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to, service agreements, master service agreements (MSAs), statements of work (SOWs), vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
• Ensure all contracts are legally sound, commercially viable, and align with the company's risk appetite and policies.
• Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initial request and negotiation to execution, amendment, and termination.
• Provide clear and concise legal advice to business stakeholders on contractual terms, obligations, and risks.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, sales, operations, and finance teams to facilitate efficient contract processes.
• Develop and maintain template agreements and standard contract clauses to streamline negotiations.
• Identify potential contract risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of contract management systems and processes for remote operations.
• Stay updated on relevant contract law and industry best practices.
• Support legal team initiatives and projects as needed.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent qualification.
• Admission as an Attorney or Advocate with a current practicing certificate.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience specifically focused on drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, gained within a reputable law firm or as an in-house counsel.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex commercial agreements across various industries.
• Exceptional drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
